A wide array of amp and effect modules is included, allowing you to shape your tone freely and intuitively. With over 250 inspiring signal chain presets, you can instantly achieve a mix-ready guitar sound the moment a preset is loaded.

The SPI engine automatically selects the optimal string and fret position based on your performance. You can also manually switch strings using key switches. The Fretboard Monitor provides real-time visual feedback of the current fret position and playing technique.

V-METAL 2 offers dynamic palm muting with multiple intensity levels, allowing for expressive control and enhancing the authenticity of your guitar sound.

The Pre Noise feature adds various picking nuances to the beginning of each note, enhancing the realism and natural feel of the guitar sound.

V-METAL 2’s Real-Time Legato Slide uses actual legato samples to deliver the expressive nuance of a human finger sliding across the strings—something pitch-based emulation simply cannot replicate. Hammer-on and pull-off samples are also real, recorded performances. Realtime legato slide and hammer-on/pull-off articulation are available for all instruments—including chord instruments—except FX instruments.

V-METAL 2 includes an extensive collection of pre-recorded chord samples—such as 2-string dyads, octaves, power chords, power 9ths, sus4, and more—allowing instant access to authentic guitar voicings. Prominy’s guitar libraries are the only ones to offer such a comprehensive range of real chord recordings.

In addition to the large set of real chord samples, V-METAL 2 provides an even wider range of chord types and voicing variations through emulated chords. Our proprietary recording and scripting techniques ensure that these emulated chords deliver a sound remarkably close to the real thing.

The User Chord Editor lets you create custom chord shapes with full control over each string. You can define how each string behaves—whether it sustains, mutes, produces picking noise, always plays open regardless of fret position, strums or not, and more.

In addition to the User Chord Editor, you can customize how each string responds when triggered by the Strum Keys or the Normal Key.

Each string has a dedicated Arpeggio Key. When a chord instrument is selected, the notes of the chord are automatically assigned to the corresponding Arpeggio Keys, allowing you to perform arpeggios intuitively.
 
This is not a traditional “arpeggiator.” It simply lets you play individual notes (strings) from a chord manually.

With SPI’s Auto Stroke Detection, the system automatically analyzes the current beat position and determines the appropriate stroke direction—down or up. Multiple detection modes are available, and manual control is also supported.

Double-tracking is a widely used technique in guitar recording that creates a rich, wide stereo image and adds thickness to the sound. With V-METAL 2 SPI, you can easily achieve this effect by loading the Double Track multi. No identical samples are played simultaneously in both channels, ensuring a natural and spacious result.

You can instantly select an instrument (articulation) using the Instrument Select Key Switches. All articulations can be freely assigned to any key, allowing you to create your own custom key switch mapping.
These switches feature chord recognition, enabling you to select a chord instrument not only by pressing the assigned key, but also by playing the chord notes within the key switch range.
In other words, there’s no need to memorize specific key switches—just hold the chord notes in the designated range, and you’re ready to play.

V-METAL 2 reproduces the rake technique, where multiple muted strings are brushed before striking the intended note—adding realism and expressive nuance to lead phrases.

“Cricket” is a guitar technique often used by metal and rock guitarists during solos. By striking the whammy bar, the tremolo unit vibrates rapidly, producing a distinctive “crying” sound reminiscent of a cricket.

In real-world guitar playing, feedback occurs when a heavily distorted tone is played near the amplifier. V-METAL 2 faithfully reproduces this feedback sound, with adjustable pitch and fade time.

The guitar is tuned to Drop C, one of the most popular tunings among metal and rock guitarists. V-METAL covers the lower register (from low C to low D♯) and is suitable for a wide range of musical genres, including modern metal, death metal, nu metal, metalcore, rock, pop, and more. Additionally, the tuning can be lowered by up to four semitones (down to low G♯), providing access to even deeper and heavier tones.
